Research for Agriculture, the Environment,
Consumers, Families and Communities
The Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station conducts
applied research to assist producers and processors of food and
fiber, other agribusinesses, families and communities. We also
conduct basic research, which adds to the body of knowledge from
which future technology is developed.
Throughout the 2009 cropping season Arkansas producers have been challenged by a wet spring, dry June, and then excessive rainfall again from July through harvest. Although some crops were predisposed to lower yields from late planting, this report provides preliminary estimates of yield and quality losses and fieldwork costs related to poor weather conditions during fall harvest as of November 13. For full report go to the U of A Division of Agriculture Web site.
