Economic Analysis of Arkansas Rice Production -- K. Bradley Watkins
Objective: to assist producers and policy makers in assessing the economics of agronomic research trials and farm policy by providing enterprise budget analysis and whole farm economic analysis of important rice management practices and U.S. rice farm programs.
Evaluating the effects of conservation tillage, soil fertility, crop varieties, and off-season field management on long-term economic and resource sustainability -- Merle Anders
Biology and Management of Rice Insect Pests -- John Bernhardt
Rice Growth Staging System and How to Growth Stage a Rice Plant -- Paul Counce
Rice Breeding and Genetics -- James Gibbons

Rice DD50 Program -- Charles E. (Chuck) Wilson, Jr.
Faculty
Merle Anders -- Research Assistant Professor, Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences
Conducts field research via long-term studies that evaluate the effects of tillage, fertility, crop rotation sequences, crop cultivars and off-season management on production and its relationship to natural resource use and quality.
John Bernhardt -- Research Assistant Professor, Entomology
Paul Counce -- Professor, Rice Physiology
Performs agronomic research to increase understanding of physiological yield-limiting factors of the rice plant and crop.
James Gibbons -- Professor, Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences
Breeds long and medium grain rice varieties employing semi-dwarfism, blast-resistance, cold-tolerance and grain quality.
Fleet N. Lee -- Professor, Plant Pathology
Conducts research on all rice diseases, particularly those causing direct economic losses due to reduced plant stands, reduced rough rice and milling yield, low quality grain, low quality seed rice and reduced plant efficiency.
Karen Moldenhauer -- Holder, Rice Industry Chair for Variety Development, and Professor, Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences
Develops and incorporates rice germplasm into new long-grain rice varieties for Arkansas rice producers.
Scott Monfort --Extension Plant Pathologist
Develops and disseminates information on monitoring and managing plant diseases of Arkansas row-crops and vegetables.
K. Bradley Watkins -- Research Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics
Conducts research to identify alternative cropping systems, management practices, or technologies that promote the long-term economic sustainability of rice production in Arkansas.
Charles E. (Chuck) Wilson, Jr. -- Extension Agronomist, Rice
Provides educational training and support to County Extension Agents and producers that enhances sustainable rice production, improves profitability and competitiveness of rice producers, and improves the water, air and soil environmental quality.
Adjunct Faculty (USDA-ARS Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center)
Georgia C. Eizenga -- Rice Genetics and Cytogenetics
David R. Gealy -- Plant Physiologist/Weed Scientist
Yulin Jia -- Molecular Plant Pathology
