Soybean variety performance tests are conducted each year to evaluate early planted, early maturing cultivars. These tests are cooperatively conducted and managed by the Vegetable Substation personnel. The results provide unbiased information about the performance of the varieties for Arkansas River Valley producers.
Approximately 70 varieties are tested for their adaptation to the Early Season Soybean Production system. Yield, date of maturity, lodging, shattering and plant height are some of the characteristics that are evaluated for each variety in these tests. Cultural practices that are performed on these tests are also included with the results.
Test results are available at county Cooperative Extension Service offices and can also be found on the web site listed below.
